Another public forum set to discuss amalgamation
A second public forum to discuss amalgamation has been scheduled for next month.
Around 140 people attended the first gathering last month. Victoria Councillor Shellie Gudgeon organized the initial discussion. She says an anonymous donor has rented out space at S.J. Willis in Victoria for the evening of April 10th.
The Greater Victoria Amalgamation Committee will meet this Friday to decide on the format and specific topics for the forum, which is being labelled “The Conversation Continues…”
Acknowledging that attendees at the first meeting hailed mostly from Saanich and Victoria, the committee’s media contact Mat Wright says they’re hoping to attract more diverse participation this time around.
